I think it is just a waste of money since we never had any identity issue before and I am not anticipating any to happen in the near future. Whenever we receive a solicitation call over the phone, I never give out my credit card number or any account number. I also keep the credit card receipt whenever we dine out since the receipt would show my entire credit card number and my signature. And also, as I learned from a conference meeting, all my billing transactions are being shred for utmost security. I have read some of the reviews at LifeLock.com and I am a bit concern since there are still a lot of ways somebody can get a hold of my pertinent information. But I have chosen to take the risk. And it was bad choice not getting a Life Lock. One day, I received a collection call from an outside collecting agency making a follow up on the loan I made about three months ago. It turned out that somebody got a hold of my social security number and it was used in making a loan and for me not to know it, the culprit changed the billing address of the loan. I was left with a loan to pay and a damaged credit score.
